What dumbstuff.lol collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted.
What we collect
- Visiting the site. No cookies and no ad trackers. We count page views, clicks on links and reactions per hour so we can show honest numbers on receipts. Counts are aggregated, not tied to you. On the vending machine we keep running totals of how often each slot is picked and each product link is opened; to stop one person inflating them, a one-way hash of your IP address is checked against a one-minute limit and is never stored. While a page is open it keeps a live connection that shows how many people are here; a random id per browser tab counts each hour’s unique visitors and is deleted when the hour ends. Cloudflare, our host, processes your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Buying an hour. Your email, the takeover content you submit (name, headline, note, colors, images, link), and your order details.
- Payments. Your card and billing details go to Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. We never see or store your full card number.
- Alerts and waitlists. Your email and what you asked to be told about.
- Emailing us. Whatever you send.
Why
To run the site, deliver and moderate takeovers, publish hour receipts, send receipts and the alerts you asked for, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet tax and accounting rules.
Who else processes it
- Cloudflare: hosting, database, file storage, bot checks (Turnstile), aggregate analytics, AI moderation models, email delivery.
- Dodo Payments: payment processing, tax, receipts.
- Google Web Risk: checking submitted links for phishing and malware. Only the link is sent.
We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t share it for advertising.
What’s public
Takeover content and its hour receipt (views, clicks, reactions, a screenshot) are public by design. Your email never is.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Takeover content stays in the public Quilt and receipts unless you ask us to remove it. Alert emails are deleted when you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or unsubscribe from any alert, by emailing ship@dumbstuff.lol. Every alert email also has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Age
dumbstuff.lol is for people 18 and older when buying. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
